i can get nVidia Geforce 6800GT AGP 256MB for £120 ( not new but rarly used) so was wondering if thats worth it or get that card me n u discussed the ati one. think it ATI Radeon X850 XT PE 256MB but could b wrong. that one is like £200 though. hmm

kk mmA getting a new one cos i talked to the rents about it and they are gonna help buy it.

however we decided on PowerColor ATI Radeon X850 XT PE 256MB on overclockers.co.uk but thats not £200 with vat lol its (£264.32 Including VAT which is a tad exspensive =/

the most annoying thing are the cards seem to b so much cheaper on pci-e

6800gt 350/500 (ddr is 1000) 16 pipes
6800gs 400/550 (ddr is 1100 16pipes
x850xtpe 560/590 (ddr is 1180) 16 pipes

since rendering is based on speed, its obvious which gfx card is better for you

i got the 6800gt as most of you know... its not bad at rendering although in large scenes still takes its time when doing high quality animations.

I have it over clocked to the same as the GS though.

Cost me 330 new when it was released.

lol plut, i got my x800pro around the same time you got that, cost me 300 squid too, ill never pay that for a gfx card again
oh one more thing to mention
if you go for either of these cards you are going to need to dump the qtec psu and go for some thing with solid rails and constant power output
Antec, tagan or any true power psu with a minimum of 400w

nope.. i have all new 3d games. (quake 4, serious sam 2, battlefield 2, etc..) but i dont play a lot it..
and my video card is ok.. but i think in the future must change it for new games..
