AMS-IX had a crash today, reason still unknown - ouch: big parts from the internet were not available... AMS-IX is one of the biggest backbones guiding the internet traffic, look at their stats - nice GAP all the sudden at 16:00 xD luckily the backup system helped out, rerouting the traffic through the mayor providers instead

but then again its one of those pieces of information that aint really important.

perhaps the nsa/cia/kgb stopped the services for a moment to install some kinda filter-software that routes everything through their backbones and after doing so everything went back to normal.

maybe the mpaa checked the AMS-IX backbones for p2p traffic and after collecting every last IP the service went back to normal.

or shell installed a new oil rig somewhere in the pacific and ripped off one or more of the monster cables that AMS-IX uses.

or the taliban flew with another plane into AMS-IX server-farm.

anyway... i wasnt online at 16h so i didnt notice. keep us informed if u figured out what REALLY happened, im sure malevolent and unit wanna hear about it ASAP!

the reason was a rat eating through the cables ending up being electrocuted behind some switches xD
